John has more than 40 years of direct involvement with the live sheep export trade in Australia and the Middle East, working in senior management roles for major exporters and livestock importers.

His former roles also include long-serving Chair of the Western Australian Livestock Exporters’ Association, Director of the Australian Livestock Exporters’ Council, and industry representative on the Livestock Export Research & Development Committee.

John has been fortunate to experience both sides of the live export trade having lived and worked in Saudi Arabia for nearly a decade, building and managing large scale sheep and cattle feedlots for imported livestock. Along with time spent sourcing livestock worldwide for importers and working in other key Middle Eastern markets, he credits this unique experience for a greater understanding of why the live sheep trade is so important to the people in the Middle East.

John holds a Bachelor of Business (Agriculture).
