Dean Ryan
Dean grew up in Chinchilla, Queensland, on a small farm, attending cattle sales from a very early age with his late father, where he developed a passion for the land and livestock. He studied at the University of Queensland – Gatton, gaining a degree in Applied Science with a major in Rural Management.
Dean started in the live export industry in December 1993 as a boat stockman and quickly progressed to a General Manager role based in Darwin and Perth for 11 years for the Emanuel/International Livestock Exports Group. He later advanced to a Director position of another export company for the duration of 12 years while building the Central Stockcare business – an export logistics, pastoral cattle station, backgrounding and feedlot business in WA.
For the past 18 years he has operated a cattle buying logistics business Australia wide for Livestock Shipping Services and remains very hands on at a grass root level of the industry.
Dean is a member of ALEC, WALEA, PGA and ALFA and a previous board member of ALEC.
He is the inaugural Livestock Export Young Achiever of the Year, being awarded this prestigious award in 2000.
