Lachlan Hunter MP

Lachlan Hunter MP

Shadow Minister for Agriculture and Food, Parliament of Western Australia

Lachlan comes from a multi-generational mixed farming family in Bruce Rock, giving him a deep connection to regional Western Australia and a firsthand understanding of the challenges faced by those living and working in the bush.

He has worked in the grain and live export industries, providing him with valuable insight into WA’s agricultural sector. He later held senior roles in the Federal Government, advising on regional development and agriculture, and worked in a corporate role with Australia Post, broadening his experience in defending the interests of regional people and industries.

Elected to State Parliament in March 2025, Lachlan is a strong advocate for regional WA. He is committed to improving outcomes for farmers, regional industries and local communities, with a focus on securing investment, infrastructure and essential services. Lachlan serves as a Board Member of the Northam Chamber of Commerce and a Non-Executive Director of DVassist, supporting those affected by domestic violence in regional areas.

As the Member for Central Wheatbelt, Lachlan is passionate about ensuring regional voices are heard in Parliament and that the people of regional WA are given the best opportunity to live, work, and invest in their communities.
